Player Profile: Julio Urias

Who exactly is Julio Urias?  He's a Mexican born, 20 year old; who is most highly touted southpaw since Clayton Kershaw.  All of Urias' pitches are electric and he projects to dominate the league for years to come.  According to Dodgers legend, scouts claimed to have clocked his fastball at 92 MPH when they first saw him pitch at the age of 15.

Last year at just 19 years old (a year in which we were all soft-bodied bitches), Urias became the youngest pitcher since King Felix to make his major league debut.  After beginning his career with a few rough starts, Urias quickly righted the ship and went 5-2 with a 3.39 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 84 Ks in 77 innings.

Before the age of 20, Urias has also managed to cement his name in the MLB record books.  Urias is the youngest pitcher to ever start a post season game and the youngest pitcher to record a win-which he did in a relief appearance.

Born with a benign mass in his left eye, Urias has had three surgeries, not including recent cosmetic ones, to have it removed.  When asked about how this condition altered his life Urias responded, "That's how God works. He gave me a bad left eye, but a good left arm."

Get ready world, were all about to get bent over by the Urias train for years to come.  Choo! Choo!
